About Us
The Construction BAME Network is an organisation dedicated to increasing representation of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) professionals within construction and the built environment.
Our aim is to provide a nurturing and supportive platform for BAME professionals across all sectors of the industry; where they can enter, build and develop successful careers and professional relationships.
We seek to attract talent to the industry through increased representation, education of diversity, equality and inclusion; along with showcasing the wide range of careers in construction and the built environment. Our ultimate goal is to have the industry reflect the richness of the diverse society in which we serve.

FOUNDER
Hello,
I am Ruvimbo, the founder of the Construction BAME Network, and a very warm welcome to you.
With all the events going on around the world, changes to the society we live in and how this transpires into the world of work, there has been the obvious questions raised in the workplace around Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. The most prominent being: is our diversity truly where it can and should be? Unfortunately, the simple answer to this question is: no.
So, what difference can we as a community in construction and the built environment make? This thought-provoking concept was the catalyst to the start of this network. Representation within construction is not ideal currently, and although there has been positive change, we still have more to do. There are great people with amazing careers in the industry so there is a base that we can build on
Every journey starts with a footstep and when it comes to diversity and inclusion in the workplace, the sky cannot be our limit because there are footprints on the moon.
I am proud to have a career in construction and I truly believe that the industry has so much to offer and gain from increased diversity and equality. Together we can tackle real issues around skills shortages, economic growth, and above all improve lives through offering opportunities to the full breath of society.
The time for positive change is now, to challenge to status quo and fully embrace the diversity of the society in which we serve.
Together with your support, the Construction BAME Network can make significant stride to truly building equality in construction, equality that lasts a lifetime and beyond.
